About Us

Our mission at Wessington Juniors is to provide a welcoming and supportive community where players of all abilities can come together to enjoy the game of football.

We aim to help players fall in love with the game, promote personal growth and development, and create lasting memories and friendships.

The history of Wessington Juniors

Wessington Juniors Football Club embarked on a remarkable journey, founded with the simple aim of helping children fall in love with the game.

After searching for a place to call home, we formed a partnership with United in the Community and are proud to train and play matches at Victoria Park in Hereford.

Summer 2022

We began by offering free training sessions to children in Year 1 and 2. Enthusiasm from players and parents led us to create our first team, who bravely took on Bromyard FC. Before our inaugural game, we found our very first sponsors, ‘The Wasp Guys,’ who kindly helped us purchase our first kit.

Autumn 2022

As numbers grew, we were able to form a second team and hosted our first tournament to build links with the Herefordshire football community. With support from parents in fundraising efforts, we raised money to purchase additional equipment and gained sponsorship from Bullock Joinery.

Winter 2022

We held our first-ever Christmas party and were visited by a surprise guest from Edgar the Bull. To keep our players active during the winter, we started our Sunday training sessions. We were delighted to received a community grant from Special Metals to purchase portable pitch flood lights.

Spring 2023

We entered our first competitive tournament, finishing second at Westfield FC. With established teams, we were ready to take the next step and to enter the league. We started plans to recruit players and coaches to create additional teams. The end of seasons awards were a great success.

Summer 2023

Over the summer, our team of dedicated fundraisers helped us secure storage and equipment and tidy up Victoria Park. We created two more U7s teams. As more coaches came on board and sponsors kindly came forward to support us with new kits, we found ourselves with four teams.

Autumn/Winter 2023

After successfully restructuring our club committee we were accepted into the Hereford Junior Football League. Our U7s and U8s teams entered the winter futsal league held at Point 4 Hereford. Our players enjoyed another Christmas Party and our fundraising efforts secured winter training facilities.

Spring 2024

Following the previous end of season awards, this years were even bigger, celebrating 5 teams and our dedicated volunteers.

Summer 2024

We kicked off the summer with lots of tournaments and held our annual fun run which raised funds for our winter season. We began our U6s training sessions.
